PAGES 81 - 91

CUT TO:

EXT - THE ASGARDIAN PALACE GROUNDS

VOLSTAGG, FANDRAL and HOGUN are on a hanging platform with their hands tied behind their backs and nooses around their necks. The executioner stands next to them. An army of LOUHI'S MEN surround 
the platform, they are jeering and baying for blood.

LOUHI comes out of the palace and walks up the stairs 
to the platform. Her pet LYNX walks by her side.

LOUHI

(To the WARRIORS THREE) It’s an exceptionally beautiful day for a hanging - don't you think? Any last words? (They say nothing) No?

In that case - (To the EXECUTIONER) if you would, please.

The EXECUTIONER takes hold of the lever to open the hatch below the WARRIORS THREE. Just as he is about to pull on it LOKI appears out of nowhere, leaps onto the platform, kicks the EXECUTIONER off the platform and shoots a fireball which destroys the beam the ropes are hanging from. The WARRIORS THREE fall onto the platform. 
 

LOUHI leaps off the platform and starts to run towards the palace.

Her LYNX runs after her. LOKI sees LOUHI running and runs after her.

SIF appears from behind the WARRIORS THREE who are lying on the platform. She has a knife, she cuts the WARRIORS THREE binds.

FREY'S ARMY appear and start fighting LOUHI'S ARMY. A massive fight ensues. FREY’S army use the new shields to reflect the shots from LOUHI’S mens weapons.

The WARRIORS THREE jump off the platform.

THOR appears next to them.

FANDRAL

(To THOR) About time!

THOR

Here! (Throws them the new weapons and shields)

VOLSTAGG

What are we supposed to do with these?

THOR

This! (Points and shoots at one of Louhi's men who hasn’t

got his shield up - he instantly turns into a

shimmering shape and falls down)

CUT TO:

INT – THE ASGARDIAN PALACE THRONE ROOM

The fighting carries on outside. A few stray flames

shoot into the throne room every now and then.

LOKI runs into the throne room. He can't see LOUHI anywhere.

LOKI

Louhi!!!!!!!

LOUHI'S LYNX runs towards LOKI, leaps in the air and tries to bite him but he manages to kick it off and it runs away whimpering.

LOUHI

(Appears behind LOKI and goes to attack him with a sword)

Arrrghhh!

LOKI turns around just in time and shoots a fireball towards LOUHI. LOUHI reflects it with the sword. The fireball hits the throne and destroys a part of it.

Two GUARDS run towards LOKI. He takes them both down with fireballs and takes a weapon off one of them but it has LOUHI’s spell on it and it flies off LOKI'S hand. He picks up a sword off one of the guards, that one seems to work, it’s much older, it hasn’t got a spell on it. LOKI lunges towards LOKI, they engage in an elaborate sword fight. Finally LOKI manages to wound LOUHI on her arm, she drops her sword, screams and steps back.

LOUHI is enraged and casts a spell. A see-through dome appears around LOKI. He tries to get out of it with fireballs. They bounce off the dome walls and die down instantly. He tries to pierce it with the sword but nothing happens.

LOUHI

Look at you, the great magician … so sad ...

LOUHI casts another spell which makes LOKI float in the air in the middle of the dome with his arms and legs spread. The sword falls off his hand to the floor. He tries to resist floating in the air but can't do anything. LOUHI makes a tight fist, points it 
towards LOKI and twists it. LOKI'S throat starts to close 
up, he is struggling to breathe.

LOUHI

Now you will pay for everything you have done!

How dare you make my daughter love you more than me!

LOKI

(Struggling to speak) She clearly thought

I was more worthy of her affection ...

LOUHI

What do you know about affection?! You've

locked your own father up so you can pretend

to be a king?!

LOUHI moves her hand quickly towards the back of the dome and opens her fist. LOKI flies against the dome. The dome crackles with electricity. LOKI falls to the floor. He tries to get up – he can barely move but he manages to get on his feet.

LOUHI

Do I hear a sorry?!

LOKI stares at LOUHI.

LOKI

I don’t believe in being sorry. I believe in not doing

something ill-advised in the first place - that way you

have nothing to be sorry for.

LOUHI

Oh, please!

LOUHI waves her hand, makes another fist and

makes LOKI float in the air again.

LOUHI

You know … I can do this all day!

LOKI

(Quietly) Please ….

LOUHI

What? Was that a please? Unfortunately not the right word.

LOUHI starts to close LOKI'S airway again by twisting her fist. She twists more and more. He is really struggling and appears to stop breathing. LOUHI holds him in the air for a while until he is limp.

LOUHI lets go and LOKI falls onto the floor. He is 
lifeless, lying on his side. LOUHI waves her hand the dome disappears. LOUHI walks over to LOKI and kicks him 
in the stomach so violently he rolls around onto his back.

LOUHI

You think I'm going to fall for that old trick?!

LOKI doesn't move.

THOR runs into the throne room. He sees LOKI on the floor. He points his hammer towards a window to get lightning and shoots it towards to LOUHI. She doesn't manage to deflect the lightning and flies to the other end of the throne room and crashes on the floor.

She is knocked out cold.

THOR

Loki!!!!!!

THOR runs to LOKI, kneels and takes gold of his his head.

THOR (Cond.)

(Quietly) Loki …

THOR lays LOKI'S head back onto the floor. LOUHI comes to and gets up. She runs towards THOR and throws a spell in his direction. THOR gets up and pulls one of the new weapons from under his cape and shoots a flame towards LOUHI. The spell and the flame meet and blow up. Thor shoots another flame towards LOUHI, she meets it with another spell.

LOUHI

You are never going to beat me!

THOR

We'll see about that!

THOR points his hammer and gets lightning through a window. He shoots the lightning and the weapon at the same time towards LOUHI. The lighting and the flash from the weapon both hit LOUHI and she staggers backwards. She is dazed.

THOR runs towards her and manages to grab her by the throat. He lifts her up with one hand so her feet are not touching the ground. She puts her hands round THOR'S hand which is around her neck and tries to struggle free but can't.

THOR

You killed my brother!

All of a sudden ODIN appears behind THOR.

THOR senses ODIN, turns around and drops LOUHI.

She falls to the floor but gets up quickly.

ODIN

She killed her son.

THOR

What?!

LOUHI

What are you talking about … my son?

ODIN

Loki is your son. Don’t you remember …

CUT TO:

A MONTAGE

LOUHI gives birth to LOKI in Jotunheim, LAUFEY accuses LOUHI of infidelity, LAUFEY takes the baby and banishes LOUHI to Pohjola, ODIN fights the FROST GIANTS, the baby is abandoned by LAUFEY, ODIN finds the baby after the battle and takes him back to Asgard with him.

ODIN (Cond.) V.O

     You gave birth to Loki just before the last great battle between The Frost Giants and Asgardians. Laufey accused you of

being unfaithful because the baby was so feeble – he said 
it could not be his son. He kept the baby as a punishment

and banished you to Pohjola. I found Loki after the

battle - abandoned - and brought him back here 
to be raised as my own son.

CUT TO:

INT - THE ASGARDIAN THRONE ROOM COND.

LOUHI

That's not true! None of that is true! None of it!

THOR

Father?

ODIN

It is the truth.

LOUHI

No!

LOUHI grabs her sword of the floor runs out of the 
throne room. THOR runs after her.

ODIN walks over to LOKI and kneels down. 
He touches LOKI'S hand and says a few words 
which are not audible.

CUT TO:

EXT – OUTSIDE THE ARGARDIAN PALACE, BEHIND

THE PALACE, AWAY FROM THE MAIN BATTLE

LOUHI comes running out of the palace. She runs over to a Porompi which is tied up in the yard. She leaps on it and takes off into the sky. THOR runs out of the palace and sees LOUHI flying off. He spins his hammer and flies in after her.

CUT TO:

EXT - SKY ABOVE ASGARD

THOR reaches LOUHI in the middle of the sky. He crashes into the Porompi and nearly knocks LOUHI off it. She loses the grip on her sword and it falls down towards the ground. LOUHI casts a spell which hits THOR and he bounces back towards the ground. THOR flies back up, grabs hold of LOUHI by her clothes and they go into a massive spin. THOR grabs LOUHI by her neck and throws her off the Porompi.

THOR

Let's see if you can fly!

The Porompi flies off by itself. LOUHI screams as she freefalls. She is trying to cast spells towards THOR but misses. THOR flies after her, catches up with her and grabs her by the throat with one hand. THOR flies down towards the lake and over the surface of the lake dragging LOUHI under the water. After a while he flies up again and onto a mountain. He crashes onto a mountain top and slams LOUHI onto the ground. She is in a right state. She gets up on her feet slowly, she is clearly in pain.

LOUHI

Enough!!!!

THOR

You're quite right. I've had enough.

THOR takes out a dagger from under his cape but just as he is about to stab LOUHI LOKI appears behind her riding a Porompi. He is barely conscious. LOKI lands the Porompi next to THOR, gets off it, grabs the dagger from his hand and plunges towards LOUHI.

LOUHI is stunned and LOKI manages to stab LOUHI in the chest with the dagger. She screams, staggers backwards and pulls it out. She drops the bloodied dagger onto the ground clutching her chest.

LOUHI

No!

LOKI

(He can barely get the words out)

Let's see you … cast a spell … out of that one.

LOUHI staggers about and grabs LOKI by his clothes. Together they teeter towards the edge of the mountain. She collapses and falls over the edge dragging LOKI with her.

THOR

No!!!!! Loki!

THOR jumps in after them but does not manage to catch them before they hit the bottom of the ravine. They lie there motionless. THOR touches down next to LOKI.

THOR

Brother ….

THOR kneels down and takes LOKI’S hand and stays there holding it.

CUT TO:

A MONTAGE

At the same time as LOUHI dies the weapons her men are using stop working. The spells she's cast on them disappear. FREY'S men, THE WARRIORS THREE and SIF overpower LOUHI'S army. ODIN sends LOUHI'S remaining troops back to Pohjola with a message to Louhi's daughter oldest daughter, AIRI, that the war is lost and she is the

new Queen of Pohjola.

CUT TO:

INT - THE ASGARDIAN THRONE ROOM

ODIN AND AIRI stand next to a large table.

It has a peace treaty scroll on it.

ODIN

Let us sign this peace treaty and put this

misery in the past for once and for all.

AIRI

Yes, My Lord. I wish for nothing but peaceful

relations between our nations.

ODIN hands AIRI a quill and she signs the treaty.

AIRI hands the quill back to ODIN and he signs it as well.

CUT TO:

THE MONTAGE CONTINUED

FREY arrives from Alfheim to Asgard with NEITO'S body. Her body is on a platform in a coffin pulled by Gullinbursti. LOKI'S body is laid out in an elaborate coffin in the Asgardian throne room. The lid is open.

INTERCUTS

- THOR stands next to LOKI'S body with tears in his eyes. He touches the side of the coffin.

THOR

Goodbye, brother.

CUT TO:

THE MONTAGE CONTINUED

FREY brings NEITO’S coffin into the Asgardian Throne Room. They place it next to LOKI’S coffin. THOR closes the lid of LOKI’S coffin. THOR goes to Earth to bring JANE to live in Asgard. ODIN and AIRI agree to bury NEITO and LOKI together in Asgard. They have a simple funeral attended by ODIN, THOR, JANE, THE WARRIORS THREE, SIF and AIRI. AIRI returns to Pohjola.

JANE gives birth to a son. They have a naming ceremony.

Many lives were lost in the last great battle but finally

Asgard was at peace. Jane gave birth to a son. 

 

They call him … Loki.
